The basic building block of all cable and wire ropes is strand. With wires stranded around a core, our one operation 1×7 and two operation 1×19 offerings provide both a strong base for higher wire count cables and ropes.
Strand is used in rigging and staying applications where linear strength and support are the primary drivers of material choice. Some examples include sailboat stayed rigging, architectural installations, push/pull cables, drive cables for medical equipment, and cable guying.
We offer stainless steel strand and galvanized strand from stock. Sizes range from 3/64″ to 1/2″ in both 1×7 and 1×19 constructions.
Our Strand products are available in both Galvanized and Stainless-Steel options.
Galvanized Steel is a zinc coated Carbon Steel that offers minimal corrosion resistance. The material remains ductile over long periods of use, and typically has a higher breaking strength vs. Stainless materials.
302/304 is the most common grade of Stainless Steel and provides good corrosion resistance.
316 is used widely in the Medical and Food Preparation industries, with very good resistance to corrosion.
Medical Strand – Constructed from as few as two wires to as many as 133, these strands have the strength and flexibility needed for Medical applications.
Stainless & Galvanized Strand – With wires stranded around a core, our one operation 1×7 and two operation 1×19 offerings provide both a strong base for higher wire count cables and ropes.
