Keeping Trains Safe and Running in the Rail Industry
Any industry involving moving objects will have some challenges, and rail is no different.
The rail industry requires quality products that can handle freight, while keeping trains safe and operating smoothly. Our Sanlo Inc. location offers a line of specialized railroad cables that are approved by the AAR (Association of American Railroads).
Below you can see our product lines catering to the industry, and the applications of our products in the rail and railroad industry.
Product Lines
Air-Hose Support
Cables that offer security and protection for air hoses, which control much of the pneumatic systems in trains.
Auto Rack Cable
Cables that secure automobiles travelling through railroads on trains.
Bottom Rod Support
AAR approved for bottom rod safety support, these are galvanized aircraft cables with metallic bullet stops and aluminum sleeves, with a minimum breaking strength of 2000 lbs.
Keeping trains running smoothly, safely and efficiently requires quality products that are built to last.
Let’s take a look at some of the applications of our products in the rail industry.
Product Applications
Cargo Security
When transporting cargo on trains, keeping items secure and stable is crucial to avoid damage. Our center beam tie-down cables are durable, with strength to keep products safely secure in railcars without the risk of cables breaking. The autorack, also known as an auto carrier, is a specialized piece of railroad rolling stock used to transport empty automobiles. Our custom manufactured autorack car safety and door cable is used to ensure the safety and security of automobiles travelling through railroads.
Bottom Rod Support
A crucial component of keeping a train running smoothly and safely is the bottom rod support system. The system consists of rods or bars located underneath the train carriage, connecting axle boxes and wheelsets. It helps maintain the stability and alignment of the train’s wheels, while distributing forces and preventing excessive lateral movement. Our bottom rod support cables have the high breaking strength to handle this application, and to keep trains from malfunctioning on the tracks.
Pneumatic Protection
One of the most important parts of a train is the pneumatic system, including suspensions, pneumatic brakes and door actuators. These systems are powered by air hoses aboard a train, which are protected and secured by air hose support cables. They are strong, coated cables which prevent air hoses from being damaged due to abrasion or other external environmental factors, and also keep the hoses in place securely for maximum performance.
