The core of a Fiber Core Wire Rope is made of natural or synthetic fibers such as polypropylene or sisal. Fiber Core offers much greater flexibility, as well as shock absorption, allowing for more effective use in end-use applications like crane hoisting. They are very light in comparison to IWRC products but have a lower tensile strength and are most susceptible to damage from moisture or chemicals.
Fiber Core Wire Rope is best used in environments where the risk of crushing the core is minimal, and where flexibility is more important than strength.
