Loos & Co. Gathers Food Donations

12/01/2021

Pomfret, CT, December 1, 2021 — Loos & Company, Inc. is asking for local residents’ help to fill the shelves of the Pomfret Community Market in a food collection event this weekend.

Employees at Pomfret’s Loos & Co. will be collecting donations at the food pantry on Saturday morning.

Local residents, business owners and community members are invited to drop off goods between 9 and 11 a.m.

The Pomfret Food Community is located in the Pomfret Community Center at 207 Mashamoquet Road in Pomfret.

According to the community market website, the pantry is always in need of cereal, soups, pasta, pasta sauce, canned meat, peanut butter and personal hygiene items.

The market includes both a refrigeration cooler and freezer to accept fresh produce and frozen foods.

“We’re hopeful that our friends and neighbors can help stock the shelves for people in need,” said Director of Corporate Marketing Robert Davis. “Everyone deserves a seat at the table and access to fresh, nutritious and delicious food.”

The market, which is organized by the Thompson Ecumenical Empowerment Group, is open the first Tuesday of the month from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the third Thursday of the month from 1 to 3 p.m.

All TEEG markets, including the TEEG Community Market in North Grosvenordale and the TEEG Mobile Market in Woodstock, operate on a client-choice model, which allows for individuals and families to make their own selections based on their needs and wants.

More information about the community markets is available online.

Loos & Co., headquartered at 16B Mashamoquet Road in Pomfret Center, is the leader in the wire and cable industry. More information about Loos is available at loosco.com.
